Econo Lodge Panguitch near Bryce Canyon

The bathroom needs a proper wipe-down. There was grime and film on the sinks, counters, walls, shower area, and window sill, plus ceiling mold / bugs and toothpaste and soap scum. Paint flecks could be scraped off, and the shower window area could use a fresh coat. The shower head is at neck height for me at 5'10". Breakfast was waffles, toast, two cereals, juice, milk, and coffee. Better than nothing, but I paid more than at other places in town after seeing the breakfast area photo and expecting more. My kids weren't excited, and I left sugar bonking after bread and waffles, so it didn't feel worth the extra cost. Maybe I just got a bad price, but I'd probably look elsewhere next time. On the plus side, the location is 25 minutes from Bryce, and I love the Panguitch area. The staff were really friendly, available, and helped with everything I asked. The bedroom area seemed clean, the beds seemed good, and the TV, fixtures, outlets, and fridge all worked.

The room and bathroom were dirty, and the room was in rough shape. Their “Complementary breakfast” was just cereal or a waffle. It felt like they cheaped out on everything. I wouldn't choose this place again.

For the 5hrs we were there, it was doable, but the room wasn't clean. The floor was sticky, the tub yellow, and there was a mildew smell everywhere. One of the two sinks didn't work; the other backed up when used, and its faucet knob was turned the wrong way. The coffee maker was dirty, and the bed didn't smell clean either. We arrived at 1 am, and the staff were still nice enough to wake up and help us. They did have breakfast, which was a nice thing even though the selection was small, plus there was a microwave and small fridge in the room.

We were blocked from getting to the stairs by a group of intimidating men who looked like they lived there. They had a table and chairs set up for cards and dice and were there at all hours, day and night. The rooms were disturbingly dirty, and the white paint used to cover things that were falling apart or broken was sad to see. It's really disappointing to see once respectable hotel chains decline so badly in quality and safety under new ownership, especially in remote places with few options. Honestly, the experience made us consider buying an RV. Bring back people who care about quality instead of just the bottom line. Spend a little more and stay somewhere else.
