Arizona Charlie's Boulder

I used to think this was an excellent hotel for the price, but this weekend changed my mind. In building one, room 2101, the cigarette smell stayed even after we sprayed a lot of air freshener. The carpet was badly stained and seemed unvacuumed, and the pullout couch had loads of stains in yellow, brown, red, you name it. There was what I believe was blood smeared on the closet walls, and unbelievable dust on the closet rack. I’m really upset about this stay and won’t be back on future trips. The rooms are getting ridiculous and it’s time for an upgrade. A hotel should take some pride in keeping its rooms clean.

The room was comfortable, and I liked the temperature control. The locals serving locals made it feel like a safe environment. PTs wings were yummy, and next-day room service was prompt. The casino where I was staying was a short distance away, and it’s centrally located near some great places to eat. I’d really like to come back.

The rooms are clean and roomy, and the price is great, even if they’re a little dated. I love that I never feel out of place here the way I do at the bigger Strip casinos. BINGO was great, and there’s a good assortment of slot machines.

The floor felt like it might give way under us, and the old bed hurt our backs. There were no blankets in the room, just sheets, and staff told us to turn on the heater. We ended up having to buy a blanket ourselves, which wasn’t in our budget. My reserved room had been sold, so they put us in a different one. Staff were great the first night, not so much the second. They also required a $100 deposit that isn’t mentioned on the website, and said it could take 7-10 days to come back. Very unpleasant stay. I’d spend the difference on another hotel.
