The rooms were clean enough and the beds comfortable enough that I slept better than expected, but there was wear on the walls and voices carried through them. I thought I smelled marijuana in the lobby when I arrived. The man who checked me in was polite and professional. We had two rooms held while traveling to the UP, but the room details were wrong and there was no Wi-Fi information. I waited in the lobby for 45 minutes at breakfast without seeing any staff. The breakfast was VERY skimpy, utensils were hard to find, and the place could use a deep clean or at least a tidy-up. It's an okay place to sleep for $80 a room, but we may pick somewhere else on our next UP trip.

A decent stay overall. The room had a newer remodel, a good bed, hot water, and a reasonable TV with Netflix. Breakfast was minimal but okay. It's a nice family-run business. The toilet keeps overfilling and needs a rebuild kit. I did a small repair on the tank, but it still needs a new kit.

The low price is really the only reason to stay here. I had a hard time adjusting the shower temperature, and the TV wasn't working right. My friend handled everything at the counter, so I can't comment on the service. I also can't say how the continental breakfast was, since it doesn't start until 6:30 and those of us in trucking are usually gone by 5:00.

They charged me for my service animal and demanded paperwork, even though that's illegal. They threatened to kick us out after a week if we didn't pay for the animal. When I showed them that they can't ask for service animal paperwork, they argued and said he would call his manager.
