Homewood Suites by Hilton Las Vegas City Center

I'm on my third day here and will be staying more than a week. So far, it's been great. Gabriela at the front desk made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. She was calm, courteous, and professional after my long trip, explained everything clearly, and got me checked in quickly. She's been just as helpful and friendly every time I've seen her since. The full kitchen has utensils, a dishwasher, and everything needed for a longer stay like mine or for families. The rooms are more comfortable than I expected, and housekeeping comes every other day to keep them fresh. On Wednesdays from 5-6:30 PM, there's a small lobby social with free light bites, a nice way to unwind. The fitness center, laundry room, and business center are open 24 hours. The pool is open 9 AM-10 PM. Breakfast is free with plenty of choices, served 6:30-9:30 AM on weekdays and 7-10 AM on weekends. Parking costs $20 per night. Pets cost $75 for 1-4 nights or $125 for 5 or more nights. It's clean and comfortable, and the staff, especially Gabriela, make it even better.

The bed and pillows were comfortable, but cleanliness and breakfast fell short. Towels looked stained, including the extras, and I found what looked like a blood stain on the hair dryer. I sent photos to the front desk but never heard back. I mainly want clean towels and a clean bed, and it seemed like housekeeping had missed details. Breakfast wasn't what they advertised as a full breakfast. The cream cheese was sitting in a bowl and looked unappetizing. Overall, the room's cleanliness and the breakfast quality didn't meet my expectations.

The woman at the front desk was nice, which was the one good part of my stay. The outside and lobby looked really nice too, but things went downhill in the room. It smelled like a sewer, though I figured some spray might take care of that. Then I found fecal stains in the toilet, so it clearly hadn't been cleaned properly. The bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever slept in, even compared with Motel 6. It was so old it squeaked loudly whenever I moved even a little. I'd rather stay at Days Inn. This was my first and last visit.

Katrina on the night shift was such a blessing. She helped me and the other people in my room several times overnight, and every time she was sweet and sincere. I really hope I've spelled her name right. Huge shout-out to her. Of all the hotels I've stayed at during this Spring Break, this one had the best service. The staff are helpful, professional, and outstanding. If you want to be taken care of in Vegas, this is the place.
