Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Paragould by IHG

The bed was so comfortable I fell into a seriously deep sleep, and the shower turned out great too, with just the right warmth and pressure. I’d been unsure about it at first. The room was clean and the staff friendly. It was a wonderful first visit to Paragould, and I can’t wait to keep coming back.

The bathroom was spacious, the room was clean, and breakfast was good. The price wasn’t bad either, though I wish they were clearer about the King rooms. We’d stay here again if we pass through.

Dan was at the desk when we checked in at 3pm on 09/27/25, and he was a God-send. He kept track of all our extra needs while handling 10 different check-ins, and stayed professional and calm under pressure. He went well beyond what was expected to make sure our friends, two medically fragile elderly jladies, had the room and amenities they needed. Thank you so much, Dan!

The room had a smell that we first thought might be the carpet, so we waited before saying anything. By the third morning it had gotten really bad. Based on my past work on older houses, I was sure it smelled like a rat in the bathroom wall. We mentioned it to the night clerk before he finished his shift, but don’t know if anyone checked the room while we were out. When we came back, nobody followed up, and we kept the bathroom door shut to get through the last night. At checkout Saturday morning, the daytime clerk said the hotel had just been remodeled and it was probably the pipes. No, it was a RAT.
