I’m often touring old Victorian houses and museums, so staying in this Victorian Inn was right up my alley. It felt like a breath of fresh air and a step back in time. The house is beautiful, the room was well decorated, and the kitchen area was great. Our bed was comfortable, too. We stayed in Suite Joy at the front, and although some people find the train disruptive, we loved it. We didn’t hear it after 9 p.m. The real highlight was the staff member who made our breakfast, one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you!

Karen, the owner, was so kind and made our very late arrival easy. The kitchen staff and chefs were lovely too, and made us a delicious breakfast with eggs and pancakes cooked to order. This is a wonderful historic place to stay, very close to Mammoth Cave national park. The building has a long history, and it’s fun being surrounded by all the little trinkets, pictures, books, and pieces of the past. They’ve done a great job creating that old, rustic Victorian feel.

The staff and owners were hospitable and helpful, and the hotel and room were very clean. Our bed was comfortable, and it was a convenient base for visiting Mammoth Cave NP. The Grand Victorian is like a living history museum, with decades of antiques and knick-knacks. We were a little overwhelmed by all the objects when we arrived, but got used to them quickly. You can hear the nearby railroad crossing from the back side of the hotel, but it wasn’t too loud, with one or two trains each night.

Karin and Gary were wonderful hosts, and we enjoyed hearing how they became owners of the property. Breakfast was great, both the food and the atmosphere, and we loved sitting on the rocking chairs for some quiet time. The drink station in the kitchen was a nice extra. My wife and I stayed three nights while visiting Mammoth Cave and Bowling Green, KY. The Inn has all the Victorian charm you’d hope for, and it’s great to see a place like this restored and treasured. It’s right across from an active railroad. The trains startled us the first night because we aren’t used to them, but after that we enjoyed the whistles and clickety-clack on the tracks. It’s neat to see trains still running after 200 years. Hope to come back someday. Gary, we’ll have to take that Studebaker for a drive. Thanks, Karin and Gary!

We loved our stay in the Joy Suites. The room was comfortable and very clean, and the Grand Victorian Inn has so much character. Breakfast was delicious, and the owners were friendly. We enjoyed spending evenings on the front porch. It’s a great place to explore the area from, close to Mammoth Cave NP. We’ll definitely be back.
