Silver Strike Lodge at Deer Valley

We were in unit 605. The facility is ski-in/ski-out, with the lift just behind it, though this unit faces the road instead of the lift and ski area. The building itself was great, but the unit was a letdown for the price. It has high-end appliances and heated bathroom floors, yet a holiday week can cost enough for several payments on a place of your own. We may go back to places around Bald Eagle Mountain next time instead of Empire Pass. Also, booking through Natural Retreats doesn't get you the lift-ticket discounts Deer Valley Resorts offers, and that adds up. Cleaning was poor. My son vacuumed because it still hadn't been cleaned an hour after check-in. The cleaners were rushing to leave because of a snowstorm, and they left shoes and socks behind. Poinsettias had been tossed onto the deck, with poisonous leaves scattered around. The mattresses were awful, and the tub drain was clogged with so much hair that I had to pull it out. The kitchen is tiny and cramped for two people. The sink drained slowly and backed up unless we ran the disposal. There was also so much trash piled up in the parking garage that it smelled disgusting for days. The owners had left so many things in the closet that there was barely room for our luggage.
