We were traveling with our daughters and I was worried about all of our safety. The place smelled awful, including the room, which gave me a headache, and there were shady people hanging around outside. Inside, the beds and fixtures were old, there were holes in the bathroom ceiling and walls, the water pressure was nonexistent, and the sink taps were reversed, hot coming out of cold and vice versa. My wife nearly fell getting into the shower, which had no safety mat or grab bars. We checked the sheets carefully because we were worried about bed bugs. The listing on the travel site didn't represent the place well. They charged our card when we arrived, though that wasn't supposed to happen, then asked for a $40 deposit. At checkout, the front desk clerk made us wait while he inspected the room, even though the whole building was already damaged and in disrepair. There's no gym, and the breakfast was a questionable item in a stapled brown bag sitting in a box on the counter. This used to be a Days Inn. It needs to be gutted or torn down and rebuilt. Don't waste your money here. It's really bad.
I don't usually leave reviews, but this place disgusted me enough to write one. The whole building had a stench that stayed in my clothes. There was rotten food in the fridge, dirty uncapped syringes on the floor, and what looked like black mold hidden above the bathroom's drop ceiling. The beds seemed unwashed for a long time, the toilet wouldn't flush, and I had to take my clothes and pillow to a laundromat the next day. Our first room's TV didn't work. In the second, the heater and AC were both malfunctioning. I normally would've checked out, but we were in the middle of an ice storm and I'd just finished a 14-hour workday. Staff didn't seem concerned when I raised the problems, and they did nothing about the snow and ice, no salt or shovels. Go down the street to motel 8 instead. It was $2 cheaper, with a nice breakfast, a decent bed, and a very clean room. Stay away from this place.
The $40 deposit and price were both fair, and I had a really comfortable, quiet room. The bed was so good and the air conditioning worked. I planned to spend the night howling at the moon, but after just an hour at the casino I wanted to get back to my cozy room. I went back, fell into bed, and finally got some much-needed rest. I enjoyed my one-night stay and will come again. Thanks!
After six hours on the road, I got to the hotel and was told the price would be $45 more than the amount I'd booked. When I pushed back, the desk clerk said he could lower it, but it would still be $15 extra. Then I found a huge pile of trash swept behind the room door. I reported it to the front desk five minutes after getting the room, and the clerk handed me a trash bag and told me to clean it. When I asked if I was meant to pick it up with my hands, he gave me a broom and said to bring it back afterward. He never offered to clean the mess himself. Customer service was terrible, and so was the cleanliness. The photo shows the trash I had to deal with, and I still couldn't get it all cleaned up.
I stayed three weeks and paid $1000. In all that time, I got just one fresh towel from the front desk and no new sheets. They said housekeeping required a special request and that I should ask the manager, but nobody seemed to be the manager. I was paying $42 a day and couldn't even get new towels once a week. The staff's hands-off attitude made decent service seem unwelcome. The fitness room has supposedly been under maintenance for months. Dusting the three machines, Windexing the mirror wall, and vacuuming the floor would take maybe 30 minutes, but nobody does it. After midnight and before 6am, the desk is often unattended or the person there is asleep. I think the health department or government should set standards for these hotels. They charge different prices depending on what they think they can get from each guest. They also kept my deposit when I checked out. The clerk said he couldn't find it in the drawer and claimed they'd already returned it, but I know I hadn't received it. Why would they return it before checkout anyway? I believe he stole it, especially since the same guy tried to keep my deposit on a previous stay, saying my room was dirty. What is housekeeping for? They're just lazy. At least I haven't seen roaches or bed bugs.
