The evening desk staff at the Super 8 turned a rough visit to Park Rapids around for us, A+++. In December, my sister and I arrived in snow, wind, and bitter cold after our reservation at another motel fell apart: the keypad wasn’t working, nobody was onsite, and we couldn’t get into our room. The rooms here were clean, and coffee and tea were available around the clock.

After a horrible stay at the Rustic Inn, the front desk person here was so welcoming and accommodating. The room was clean and warm, and the price was budget friendly.

I booked two nights over Labor Day weekend but left after just one because the room was disgusting and uncomfortable. Room 116 smelled musty, the whole floor felt damp, and the bathroom had water damage, possibly mold too. It looked like they’d tried painting over the mold and water damage. The bedding, carpet, and furniture were dated, and the mattress must have been about 20 years old. For what they charge, it wasn’t worth it, even as a 2-star hotel.

Breakfast had delicious food and a great selection, definitely an enhanced breakfast. The morning manager was upbeat, kind, and thoughtful. The overnight desk clerk was more than awesome, friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful.

This isn’t a fancy hotel, but it covered the basics well. The room was clean, the customer service was absolutely wonderful, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. They went the extra mile to make us comfortable, and there were delicious cookies at the front desk. No complaints here :)
