Best Western Parker Inn

Breakfast was a letdown: the microwave sausage wasn’t cooked through, and the pancakes were rock hard. The whole place smelled moldy, and the windows wouldn’t open. In my room, the bed was uncomfortable, lights were coming loose from the wall, and the shower ran all night. A too-short curtain and crooked rod had let water damage the floor beside the toilet. The heating and cooling controls had been vandalized, so it was hard to tell what setting I was using. I won’t stay again. Other Best Westerns put this one to shame.

The pool was comfortable, and breakfast turned out better than I expected. The motel itself feels dated, with a step-in tub and shower curtain.

The staff were really friendly, but the sheets were filthy and the bathtub faucet kept running. For what we paid, the room just wasn’t worth it.

The pool wasn’t heated. During our March stay it was 15,5 C° / 60 F°, so a swim felt pretty bracing. Parking around the hotel was plentiful and free, and our room was clean and spacious. We also found the breakfast quite decent compared with the awful breakfasts at other US hotels, though it’s not at a European standard. Parker is a quiet desert town, and we’d hoped for somewhere warm to relax. This Best Western made for one of my most enjoyable stays at the brand in a long time, mostly thanks to a staff that was so friendly I can hardly find the words. The rates did seem high next to other Arizona hotels. There aren’t many places to stay in Parker itself, though, so I can see how they fill rooms at those prices. I’m pretty sure I’ll return, probably in summer when it’s warm and cozy.
