Americas Best Value Inn Wildersville

The price was cheap, but the rooms feel dated and had an unpleasant smell. There were some odd people sitting in cars outside all night, and the front desk couldn't work out how to print my receipt.

We picked this place for its location and price, and it was a big mistake. It cost almost $100 even though the online price said $60, with more than $20 in taxes, and we never got the free breakfast. All they had was the same tiny snack cakes that had been out the night before, plus coffee that tasted awful. We didn't sleep, and after trying to shower I felt dirtier than before. My back hurt from the noisy bed. If we'd known how bad it would be, we'd have kept driving. It's not worth it. This is one of the worst places we've stayed, and it needs a lot of work. Don't stay here. The woman at the desk was okay, though not especially friendly. The room smelled, and there was dust on the lamps and furniture. The chairs were gross, and the nightstands and table felt nasty. There was mold on the shower walls, and water passed through the thin cloth curtain onto the very slippery tile. We had to put towels on the floor to soak it up so we could get out safely. The pillows were flat and dirty, and the bed was uncomfortable, with loud popping sounds whenever we moved. The comforter had black stuff on it that looked like mold or something similar, plus part of a shoe print in one corner. The air conditioner cooled the room, but it buzzed loudly and made strange sounds, like plastic bags flapping in the wind. The paper-like window blinds were faded and didn't cover the window well. There was mold around the refrigerator seal and inside it. I wasn't brave enough to touch the microwave. The ceiling had mold in places and a bad patch that looked like termites might be eating the sheetrock.

The staff were really pleasant, and the room was clean and comfortable. Parking our travel trailer was easy. There’s a 24-hour convenience store across the road with EV charging, too. We’d definitely stay again.

The best part of our stop was the sleep. My husband, Charlie, and I all rested more comfortably than we had yet, and the king bed was super comfortable. The showerhead was incredible, too. We’d driven longer than we meant to, so we stopped for the night with Charlie, my emotional support dog. My husband forgot to explain that he’s a service dog with papers, and the owner promptly refunded the pet fee. He also went out of his way to find four extra pillows my husband needs to breathe at night and brought them to our room. The grounds and landscaping are clean and well kept, and the rooms are large and clean. The surroundings were quiet. The TV, microwave, and fridge were nice. It could use better lighting and a little paint touch-up.
