Our dog Eva soon felt like part of the hotel family. After potty breaks she’d happily look for treats from the staff, which amused everyone, and several employees came to the front desk to wish us safe travels when we left. My husband and I had extended work stays at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Parkersburg, WV, and it stood out among the many hotels we’ve used around the country. We arrived late, but the front desk associate welcomed us, quickly checked us in, and took care of what we needed. Staff were consistently attentive. Housekeeping cleaned thoroughly, even getting down on their hands and knees, and maintenance kept things in good shape. The dining areas were spotless, with trash emptied regularly. Everyone greeted my dog and me warmly, often stopping for a friendly chat. They also made the place feel welcoming, with a Pumpkin Decorating Contest guests could vote in. The week before Thanksgiving, they invited us to the staff Thanksgiving lunch, which made us feel valued and at home. It was a real pleasure staying there.

Denise made my stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Parkersburg Downtown a great experience. She welcomed me warmly and professionally as soon as I arrived, then went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed. Her attention to detail stood out. She’s friendly, helpful, and always smiling, and she turned an ordinary hotel stay into a really good one. I’ll stay here again because of her service. Highly recommend!

James at the front desk was kind and professional, and even texted after check-in to see if everything was okay. We were there for a GNCC race with my son’s quad on our truck, so I was worried about it. He reassured me it was in view and that staff would keep an eye on it overnight. Our king suite was possibly the cleanest hotel room we’ve had, from the bathroom to the sheets. The bed was amazingly comfortable, breakfast was great, and my son loved that the pool was open 24 hours. We often arrive too late for him to use a hotel pool. Wish every stay could be this enjoyable. Great job!

I stayed three nights last week and came away with 11 bed bug bites. I’m sure that’s what they were. My coworker, who stayed there the week before, also said he had bites on his legs. The hotel gave me 20,000 Hilton points, worth roughly $100, but those points don’t go very far. Trying to make sure I didn’t bring bugs home took an exhausting amount of time. I’m unhappy with the experience and won’t stay there again.

I’d suggest turning off the TV at breakfast so political content isn’t playing, and planting some larger trees to block the cemetery view from the rooms. The room itself was clean and nice, the bed was comfortable, and the morning front desk woman was very helpful.
