Sleep Inn & Suites Parkersburg-Marietta

For a two-star hotel, this is easily one of my top three stays. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable, and the water got hot quickly with good pressure. The front desk gentleman was friendly and polite even at 11 PM. The lot was extremely well lit, and the wall of security cameras at the desk made me feel good about leaving my car there. It was safe. I’ve seen some other reviews and wonder if they had issues with the help, but everything was great during our visit. This checked every box for me.

We’ve stayed here a couple of times, and it’s been very clean throughout. The beds are really comfortable, and customer service is top notch. They’re so accommodating with animals, too. The manager was one of the nicest we’ve met in all our travels.

The beds were comfortable and I slept well. It’s in a quiet area, and the breakfast room was clean, with the tables ready to use. They had waffles, toast, eggs, sausage, bagels, juice, and coffee for breakfast. The attendants were genuinely kind. Every bag I had for ice on my knees had holes, so this morning they went out of their way to give me plastic bags. The Sleep Inn was nice and well kept, and it’s a great budget-friendly hotel. Thank you all!

The staff were very friendly, but there were gnats or fruit flies all over the room, apparently coming from the bathroom drains. That was the bigger problem for me. At check-in they said my card hadn’t gone through and ran it a second time, which led to a duplicate charge that takes nearly a month to drop off. This is the second time it has happened at this location, and the fourth time at a Sleep Inn in two years. I’m a Choice Diamond member and stay in hotels for business about 100 nights a year, and this has never happened at another Choice property. If the billing issue had been the only problem, I probably wouldn’t have written a review. Until they get this sorted out, stay somewhere else.
