Sonesta ES Suites Annapolis

The location was great, the staff friendly and efficient, and breakfast was good. The rooms are spacious and include a kitchen and fireplace. A few updates or upgrades in the room would make this five stars for me.

I paid in advance for a 12-night stay. The stay itself was good overall, though the garbage disposal was broken and had to be fixed, and the phone didn’t work for the first week. Then, after checkout, I saw a $53.71 charge with no explanation. When I called, they said it was for parking. I pointed out that nobody had told me there was a parking fee, and the man said it was listed on the website, then hung up. I won’t stay again, and I’ll tell anyone who’ll listen to avoid the place.

The rooms were clean and nice, but the plumbing was a problem: the sink only had scalding hot water. Breakfast was included, though just so-so. Parking can be hard to find if you return around 10 pm, and they charge for it without clearly telling you.

After snow forced us out of our planned lodging for a Lions convention, Sonesta took us in at the last minute. They made it feel like our home on the road, with both professional and personal hospitality. Five stars to Mike, La Vonne, Maria, and Don. We’ll make this our home on the road next time too.
