The bed and desk were nice, and breakfast was okay, though nothing special. But the room had a slippery tub, and both my husband and I fell. He had to go to the ER. He filed an incident report for work, then was told they had “lost it” when he asked for it. The couch was stained, with crumbs underneath, and the water section of the in-room coffee maker had a slimy film, so I didn’t use it. The app said coffee was free in the lobby, but when I asked, staff laughed and said it had to be purchased. They said there had been no free coffee since Covid, despite what the app said. Pool use required a reservation, and the bathroom had liquid soap only, with no bar soap even when requested.

My husband and I have been staying at the Embassy Suites for eight months, and it’s been wonderful so far. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. They go out of their way to make us feel at home, and we’ve become friends, almost like family. Breakfast has been delicious, with lots of choices. We’ve also enjoyed dinner and drinks at the hotel bar and restaurant. The food and drinks were delicious and prepared perfectly, and the atmosphere was comfortable. We’ve been really happy with our stays.

The front desk staff were friendly enough, and the room was spacious, but the place felt like a dark, sad, dirty apartment complex from North Carolina that had been enclosed and moved to Parsippany, NJ. It’s old, and I wouldn’t choose to stay here. I made my daughter keep her sandals on in the shower, and without the pool, I wouldn’t have let her shower at all. The parking lot was wide open, but they still charge $15 for parking, even though this is New Jersey and guests need cars. The king bed had four mini pillows instead of two king or even standard pillows. There are three sinks, in the bathroom, living room, and bedroom, but no door for the bedroom.

This place could be fabulous with a lot of money spent on upgrades, but I’m not sure the guests I saw would support much higher rates. The $15 charge for outdoor, ungated parking is insulting. They should raise the room price instead of making guests, and probably staff, feel like morons over a parking fee. The building looks as if it was once built to a high standard, though age has caught up with it. The dramatic interior fountains and palm trees are unusual, but one side of the fountains was out of service, and the working side showed rust and dirty paint. The rooms are spacious, but haven’t aged well. In the bathroom, faucets didn’t work smoothly, the tubs were stained and rusty, and fixtures were dinged. Our thermostat didn’t work right, and the room was about 80 degrees. We checked in late and were too tired to complain. In the morning I noticed the windows opened, which could have cooled things down if I’d been willing to deal with a strong breeze.

We came in at 3 AM after a long event setup, sore and exhausted, hoping to sleep for 7-8 hours before driving home. My husband, our teenage kids, and I had booked a night after the New Year’s Eve event in Parsippany. The lobby and fourth-floor suite looked nice at first, but our stay was a nightmare. The toilet lock was broken, so the toilet door wouldn’t close. I told the receptionist, who calmly said someone would come in the morning. I was too tired to argue, though that didn’t help us then. The room felt stuffy at 75, so we turned the thermostat down to 68 and went to bed. An hour later we woke up sweating, and it read 79. Reception told me there was no AC, only heat, and suggested turning off the thermostat to cool the room. After two more hours of tossing around, it had barely dropped to 78. My kids kept saying how unbearable the heat was. At 7 AM I was writing this from bed, still without the good night’s sleep we came for. It was 28 degrees outside, yet we were roasting in a room at 77. We had brought food from the event, but room service said they had no plates or bowls. We ate from the containers with our hands, and couldn’t eat the soup at all. This is the worst hotel stay of my life. Even cheap roadside motels have given me a comfortable bed and decent sleep. The photos show a nice-looking place, but the reality was painfully bad. I don’t understand the people giving it five stars. I just wanted to pack up and drive home. What a terrible first morning of 2026!
