Great Western Inn

Bed bugs in every room. I showed them photos of blood and groups of bugs in the mattress corners, and they’ve apparently been there for months. They’ll deny it, and you won’t get a refund. The staff do nothing. I don’t recommend this place.

My first visit last year was fine for about a week. The room and cleanliness were okay, the owner seemed nice, and everything went smoothly. This year I booked again, but the owner wasn’t there when I checked in. The first room was horrifying, with poop smears in the toilet and no proper cleaning. I complained at the front desk, and they apologized and moved me. The replacement room was surprisingly clean and had several amenities the first room didn’t. It seems you get a better room if you pay more, which feels unfair. The morning I checked out, I stepped out briefly and came back at 10:36 to collect my things and return the key. Checkout was at 11, but my belongings were gone. The front desk woman said the cleaning staff had taken them because they were about to clean the room. I was upset and told her they had no right to go in while I wasn’t checked out yet. She got angry with me, even though the mistake was theirs. I’ll never come back. After this, I wouldn’t be surprised if staff enter rooms when guests are away. I’ll pay a little more somewhere else. I don’t recommend it.

The owners were kind and let me see the room before I rented it. One of them put it this way: "It's not the Marriott, but it's very clean and safe." He was right. I slept like a baby.

I’ve been here about three weeks so far, and everything’s been good. No problems.
