Pasadena Inn at Old Town

I’d stay here again if I needed somewhere to sleep in the area. It’s not a place I’d brag about, but for its price, age, and rating, it should meet expectations. I’m judging GreenTree Pasadena Inn on what it is. I was here for work for 4 nights and 5 days, and the first thing to know is that it’s an older property. That’s clear from the photos and other reviews. The desk staff were upbeat, friendly, and informative, and answered all my questions. That kind of service can be hard to find at places costing twice or even three times as much. I had a second-floor room. The uneven floors and outside banisters were noticeable, probably from age and weather, but didn’t bother me. The bed was tightly made and very clean, with no bugs or linen stains. It seemed like they take care to maintain or replace beds, box springs, mattresses, and sheets when needed. Housekeeping here was great and deserves credit. The overall cleanliness was adequate, with clean floors and regularly wiped common surfaces. The lights all worked, though they were dusty, and there were a few cobwebs in ceiling corners. It looked like they get cleaned sometimes, just not as part of daily housekeeping. The water pressure was good and the hot water hot. Heating and cooling worked, outlets were fine, and both the mini-fridge and microwave worked. No issues with the room amenities overall. But a few things were plainly broken: the shower curtain rod had visible snaps and breaks and was loose, which seems dangerous overhead. The fridge dial had broken off, leaving a metal nub. I woke up to a soda can that had exploded, my fault, and cleaned it up. Mostly, I just didn’t want to be blamed for damage. There were some thoughtful upgrades, including the desk setup, freestanding closet, clean LVP, flat-screen LG TVs, and day bench. In places like this, you usually get a bed and a very old TV on the wall.
