Motel 6 Portland, OR Mall 205

There are plenty of nice businesses nearby, including a great pizza place directly across the street, and the fountain in the parking lot is a nice touch. People may see the Portland area and the apartment complex next door and assume it’s unsafe or not a good location, but I thought the hotel was great. Coffee in the room or lobby would’ve been a welcome extra.

Check-in was quick and easy, and the location was convenient, even if the price wasn’t the cheapest. I liked being offered a choice between smoking and non-smoking rooms. I picked smoking, but it didn’t smell of smoke at all, so I didn’t even smoke in there. The room was clean and had what I needed. Thanks, Motel 6, for keeping up a high standard of hospitality.

There were signs of possible prostitution around the parking lot, and the ground-floor window screen was broken, as if someone had tried to get in while we were away at a wedding. The service was awful too. When we showed the front desk photos and asked to move rooms, he argued that we had requested a smoking room and simply refused a refund. We had asked for non-smoking, but got a room that reeked of cigarettes and had ashtrays everywhere. It was incredibly dirty. The mattress had tiny blood spots that looked like bedbug signs and yellow stains all over. There were small black hairs on the fitted sheet and burn holes in the comforter. We won’t be back. Do not stay here.

We were inside for only seven minutes, but the place was covered in feces, bodily fluids, hair, and cigarette burns. The beds had dark, thick residue, and we didn’t sleep on them or use anything. My children started having trouble breathing after being there. We walked in and could barely breathe ourselves. The woman at the front desk was rude and combative, arguing with me about the money I’d paid. She didn’t give me a refund, and I want the full amount back. I’m disgusted and will never return.
