The included breakfast was incredible, and the chef made sure we had a hearty meal before the day began. We stayed for our anniversary and had such a great time. The staff took really good care of us.

That wine tasting happy hour was so good, and I loved the CASS Syrah blend. The rooms are beautifully designed, with everything feeling intentional and thoughtful, and breakfast was amazing too. A spectacular, one-of-a-kind place to stay in the area. I’d choose it over a traditional hotel any day.

The peaceful setting was a highlight, and the bedding was top tier. Staff were accommodating, and we had an excellent stay. We’d love to come back.

We stayed two nights at the Geneseo Inn this past week, and the experience was mixed. The location is gorgeous, and the hotel reception staff were friendly and helpful. Still, this was the priciest hotel on our weeklong trip to the SLO area, and some parts of the stay didn’t feel worth it. The bathroom’s shower and toilet share one area, so the floor gets wet if you use the toilet after someone showers. There’s a heating fan to dry it faster, but it feels like an avoidable annoyance when the room is large enough for a separate toilet space. Breakfast was delicious, though I accidentally picked bacon as a side with an option that didn’t include a side. There was no notice that it cost extra, and I was charged $8. Also factor in the $35 per day “destination fee” when working out the price. The complimentary tasting at the hotel’s tasting room was awkward. The service was brusque, to put it diplomatically, and I got the sense serving us was a chore, perhaps because we weren’t buying anything. My partner felt the same coldness. They serve food at the tasting room, including pizza that looked good, but food service stops by 4 PM. That’s a letdown when staying at a winery, since it means driving into town for dinner. It would be nice to have a dinner option on the property. The hotel has a lot of potential, and I hope they make improvements so the experience reaches what it could be.
