Hotel Siri Downtown - Paso Robles

The curtain setup made our second stay here extremely unpleasant. They’ve bolted the curtains to the ceiling so they can’t be closed at night, and the thin, nearly sheer curtain between them doesn’t block the light. Light from the ground-level hotel walkway and headlights from cars parking in front of the exterior doors both came into the room. It was as bright as day, and I barely slept. We had a good experience on our first visit and were excited to return, but I won’t be back.

Older place, but clean, and nicer than I expected. The guy who checked us in was nice, and we got a balcony room with plenty of space for two. It’s close enough to downtown to be convenient, though a little far to walk, about a five-minute drive to shops. The price was good, and our room had a mini fridge, microwave, and hair dryer.

A week went by and nobody contacted me, so I called again and got the same runaround. When I first called after getting food poisoning the day before my trip, I was trying to find out whether we could change or cancel the date. They kept telling me to call back: first the next day for the manager, then a few hours later, then Monday. After that, they said there was no way to reach the manager, but that the manager would contact me. This hotel and its management suck.

We had two rooms for four people, and both were clean. The room with two queen beds was spacious. Supplies and upkeep were uneven: only one room had extra toilet paper, and the towels in both rooms were clearly old and frayed. Nobody told us we needed to call the front desk to have the rooms made up, and there were no notices in the rooms. If I'd seen a notice, I wouldn't have expected service, and that would've been fine. The front desk was unattended, our key worked for just one day, and nobody apologized. They only passed the blame around. Customer service was nonexistent.
