Wine Country Inn

Nick, the manager, made us feel welcome and had such great energy. His wife was kind too, and offered my partner and me chai tea. Wine Country Inn in Paso Robles is a cozy, clean, comfortable little hotel, tucked away from the busier parts of town. It was affordable and simple, but well taken care of. I really enjoyed staying there and would definitely come back.

The worst issue for us was the lack of soundproofing. We arrived late, then at 5:30 AM the next-door guest’s phone conversation woke me up. I could hear every word as if he were in our room, so we didn’t get proper rest. The AC was unbelievably loud, like a train running in the room, and impossible to sleep with on. Even moving around was uncomfortable because the metal bottom of the bed frame sticks out; it’s easy to kick and makes a huge, startling noise. The bright white lighting was harsh and made it hard to relax. You have to kneel to find the trash bin, tucked under the top right corner of the bathroom counter, and there wasn’t even a small box of tissues. We chose the hotel because it was cheaper than others, around $100+ per night. The staff were nice, but I honestly regret staying here. I highly do not recommend it as a comfortable place to rest. If we could choose again, we’d spend the extra $100+ to stay somewhere better.

The hosts were great, and hearing them share their stories was so fun. Check-in went smoothly, and the room was very clean and quiet, with no noisy neighbors. The location worked well too: not right downtown, but still within walking distance. 10/10!

Everything was on the ground floor, with a parking space right in front of each room. I was pleasantly surprised when the spot I pulled into, since there wasn’t much parking by the office, turned out to be right outside my assigned room. It’s in a quiet area at the north end of town. The room was immaculate, with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and big bathroom. They even had ESPN for Monday night football. I couldn’t be happier!
