The view from our room was incredible, and we loved watching the sunset each night. Everything felt welcoming and homey as soon as we arrived. The rooms were comfortable, breakfast was delicious, and the fridge had plenty of refreshments. We had no complaints and are already thinking about another trip to Turtle Rocks. Can’t wait to return!

Roger’s breakfasts were a great start to our hiking days, and he made us feel at home with his warm conversation. The inn also provided fresh baked goods, thoughtful itineraries for out-of-state visitors like us from Pennsylvania, and spot-on restaurant suggestions. Its location is ideal for exploring the Redwoods. Our room and the property had beautiful ocean views, with sea lions “singing” in the distance. The Wi-Fi was weak, but I ended up appreciating the chance to unplug and take in the scenery. We left refreshed and grateful, already dreaming of another visit. For a peaceful escape with lovely views and warm hospitality, Turtle Rocks Oceanfront Inn is a gem.

After getting engaged in Muir Woods near San Francisco, we stayed at Turtle Rocks Oceanfront Inn and were charmed by the whole place. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Trinidad is a gorgeous, welcoming town, too. The view was stunning, breakfast delicious, the garden felt magical, and the owners were witty, kind, and generous. The other guests were friendly as well. If you want a home away from home near the redwoods, choose Turtle Rocks. Next time, we won’t stay anywhere else.

Roger was a friendly, helpful host. He made breakfast each morning and suggested local hikes and places to eat based on what we liked, with useful tips for making the most of them. There’s also a paper itinerary in every room, with attractions matched to how much time you have. The assistant who showed us around at first was helpful and nice, too. The room had everything we needed. The mattress felt new and supportive, with a soft pillow top and high-end sheets. We could watch waves hit the rocks from bed and hear them, and with the door open we heard sea lions singing in the morning. The double walls also kept sound from other rooms out very well. We appreciated the beautiful garden, afternoon coffee, tea, and treats in the common area, and the community fridge with plenty of room and nonalcoholic drinks. There were powerful binoculars for the ocean, along with magazines, books, and local maps. The housekeeper did good work, and Roger told us she earns a good living wage. For security, guests are asked to lock the inn’s front door when coming and going. It was perfect for our romantic getaway. As a mother, I also noticed it could work well for families, with hot chocolate and marshmallows at tea time and double walls that let kids be playful. We can’t wait to return to Turtle Rocks Oceanfront Inn.

The seaside suite had a fantastic Pacific Ocean view, well worth the price. The separate beds and long hallway gave our teenager some privacy. The bathroom was spacious, and the whole place was well maintained. The owner and cooks were friendly, and we enjoyed the egg frittata at breakfast and the range of desserts. The inn is close to the redwood park and Trinidad, a small town with ocean beaches. If the view is what you’re after, this place has it. Highly recommend.
