A relaxing place, with easy access to both the beach and marsh sides of the island. The covered creek dock is great for watching the sunset.

The best part is the food and the servers who bring it. It’s authentic Southern cooking. This old beach house has cozy nooks for reading, plus a porch with rocking chairs and the nicest padded cushions. The view is therapeutic. Rooms are clean and rustic, and fans and the breeze keep them cool, though some rooms have air conditioning. Our room had a sink and water closet, with the shower down the hall. I love coming here to unwind, find some inner peace, eat well, sleep soundly and enjoy Southern hospitality. It’s one of my favorite places to decompress.

I’ve never stayed somewhere where it was so easy to get to know the other guests. From the rooms to the meals, it feels like you’re part of a group, but everything still has a relaxed, casual feel. The staff are as warm and friendly as they can be. This is one of the most fantastic, unique and fulfilling vacation spots I’ve been to, and one of our favorite trips ever. We’ll be back again and again.

We stumbled across Sea View Inn by chance and booked a charming cottage for a week in July. Then my husband found out he had a week off in May, and I spotted a three-day opening in an oceanfront room. When we arrived, Kipp greeted us and ran the inn smoothly, treating us like old friends. The atmosphere is casual, welcoming and mesmerizing. The beach is beautiful and fairly private, and there are plenty of showers to rinse off before coming back to the deck. The food is so good, served with love and smiles. The women there are precious. Other guests come back at least once a year, and after seeing why, we can’t imagine staying anywhere else. It was truly magical, the best vacation we’ve ever had. I can’t wait to return. Thank you to the staff for everything. See you in July!
