Cobblestone Hotel & Suites - Paxton

We’ll definitely tell our friends about this hotel. It was very clean, the price suited our needs, and the staff were so polite. One woman especially impressed me. When our TV needed help, she came right up, reset the box, and brought fresh batteries. Later, on our way to dinner, I saw her cleaning rooms too. I said she must be busy, and she told me she was, but loved the job and was happy to help in any department. She was a shorter woman with red hair and glasses. Her boss must trust her with all those jobs, and she was so nice.

The 24/7 flavored coffee station was a nice touch, and the pool room was warm. The hotel charges a pet fee for service dogs, though. When I questioned it, I was told they clean the rooms either way and that it was only $25. That’s definitely illegal under the ADA.

After a long night shift, we drove two hours expecting to use our confirmed reservation, which we’d told the staff would be a late arrival. Instead, we found it had been canceled. The front desk said we’d have a long wait for another room, even though the parking lot was nearly empty. That was frustrating, especially after the drive and shift. We expected better communication and service, and left disappointed and inconvenienced.

We stay here once or twice most years, and it’s always been a great experience. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well kept, and the service is friendly and helpful from beginning to end. The guy who helped us was 2000/10, truly incredible. We’d absolutely stay again.
