Days Inn by Wyndham Paxton

The breakfast was nice and simple, and my kiddo had a blast. We stayed three nights while I was visiting family, and they checked every day whether I needed clean towels. Everyone was so nice. I’d definitely recommend this motel if you need a good night’s rest.

Breakfast was advertised until 9, but when I went down at 8:30 it had all been put away, so don’t be late. At checkout, the desk lady did go in back and bring me a couple of snacks, which helped a little. The room was fairly clean, but the bathroom fan squealed so loudly I avoided using the light it was connected to. The toilet seat had a melted or burn mark with a sharp point, and someone, probably housekeeping, knocked at 7:30 in the morning. After I booked online, a staff member called three times while I was on the way, asking when I’d arrive. By the third call he said he’d leave my key in a Dropbox anyone could take it from. All those calls were annoying, and I’ll avoid this place next time I’m in the area.

The king bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, and Dish TV worked great. Had a fantastic one-night stop on my way across I-80. It exceeded what I expected from a 2 Star Motel.

Check-in went smoothly, and the front desk staff were helpful and efficient. But the room smelled stale, with food odors and other unpleasant smells that made it feel unclean. It needs better deep cleaning and attention to the air. The worn, reused key folder also felt tacky and unhygienic, a small detail that made the stay feel less cared for. Days Inn by Wyndham Paxton has a good staff foundation, but cleanliness and those basic comfort details need attention.
