The surprise at checkout was a roughly $4 “Shadow Creek” fee tied to the area. It wasn’t in the original booking confirmation, so keep it in mind when booking in Pearland. Apart from that, I had a great stay and would recommend the location. The staff were friendly, and the hotel was peaceful on Christmas Eve, with just a few other guests around. There was a line at the desk when I arrived, so I went straight to my room and tried the digital key. It worked right away, which rarely happens, and I was able to settle in without trouble. Signs said housekeeping had December 25 off to spend with their families, which seemed considerate; it didn’t cause me any problems. My room had a microwave, mini fridge, and a coffee maker like a Keurig. The smart TV had Netflix, which was great. Breakfast wasn’t included, as is typical for a Hilton Garden Inn, but you could order it in the morning. I worked for a while in the lobby, which never got crowded, and the property also has an outdoor pool and fitness center.

The room was comfortable, and the stay was hassle-free. I’ve probably stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn about five times, though it’s not usually my first choice. The Hilton Honors app made check-in seamless. Several people were waiting at the front desk when I arrived, but my digital key worked perfectly, so I went straight to my room. Nice touches there: the TV welcomed me by name, and the AC was already on, which was welcome with the temperature at 79°F on Christmas Day. The room had a comfortable king bed and the standard amenities I’d expect from the brand. I skipped getting a physical key card, so I had little interaction with staff, and there was no complimentary upgrade. The total on the checkout statement differed from the rate I booked because of a local fee called “Shadow Creek.” The front desk explained it was an area charge since the hotel is in Shadow Creek. It was about $4, not a big deal, but good to know. Management also let the housekeeping staff have the 25th off, which was a nice gesture. Employees are your most important asset, kudos to management.

The room had nice technology and was basic but comfortable. My main issues were the door, which needed a hard slam to close, the lack of shower shelves, and breakfast: it was paid and didn’t start until 7, by which time some residents had already left. That means lost business for the hotel. Thanks for responding to my concerns and suggestions. Knowing they were heard says a lot about what to expect going forward, so I’ve added a star. :)

Construction noise made it hard to sleep, and the water was shut off for four hours at a time on two of the three days. I wasn’t told about any of this before checking in, and not being able to shower or use the restroom was a major inconvenience. The snacks and drinks were ridiculously overpriced, more than at the airport. I understand charging extra for convenience, but this felt like highway robbery. Wild.

Please read the other reviews and don’t stay here. We booked three nights during the last week of October 2025, and the first room, 307, had no hot water. I had to put water in the Hilton coffee cup and heat it in the microwave to get hot water. Completely unacceptable. The next morning they moved me downstairs to room 228. It had no TV, and the next morning, while I was watching TV, a bug crawled around in my bed. Guess it wanted to watch Halloween Resurrection too. I finally got to speak with the hotel manager about the problems. She comped the room with no hot water and sent housekeeping to collect the bug from my bed. I checked out. I wasn’t spending another day in this horrible hotel, and I shouldn’t have to pay for a room with bedbugs, or for any of the days. I complained to 1-800-Hiltons, and their response was mind-boggling: they said they don’t handle this type of situation. Who does? They transferred me to Laura, the manager over the property and the supervisor of the hotel manager I’d spoken with. Laura said I was a Hilton Honors member and a friend and family member, and that they had a code they had to follow. The first manager had said she comped the room with the bug, but that wasn’t true. The comp was for the lack of hot water in the first room. She didn’t even know what kind of bug it was until she sent housekeeping to collect it in another Hilton cup. Given the reviews, she probably knew it was a bedbug. There are a lot of complaints about that. I asked Laura if she’d stay in a hotel with no hot water and bedbugs. She hesitated, then said no. Why should any guest? I hung up on her. Hilton Honors members are getting less than mediocre service here. I’m done with Hilton and won’t stay at one again. I’m writing this to spare you and your family the trouble of no water and possible bedbugs. Look beyond the good reviews at the top: many people have reported the same problems and gotten no recourse or decent response from Hilton. They know this is happening and don’t care.
