La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Pecos

The room itself was clean, but the hallways and floors were filthy, and the tile in our room needed sweeping and cleaning. The coffee was cold, too. I won’t stay here again. I’d rather drive another hour or two. At check-in, the front desk man was on his phone and seemed indifferent. When I asked for a ground-floor room, he brushed me off. Around 9 p.m. he called to say he’d checked me into the wrong room and wanted me to sign something. The paper had a different room number, so I refused. It took 20-30 minutes to straighten out our information and credit card. After we went back to bed, someone else tried to enter our room about ten minutes later. The person he’d asked me to sign for was at the desk, but this was a completely different guest he’d also put in our room.

The place felt welcoming, and the hotel and rooms were clean. They served both breakfast and dinner, and the staff, Isaac, JP, Wendy, and Martina, were all friendly and wonderful. I could tell they genuinely cared. Other hotels should take notes. Thanks for a great stay.

I’m done with Wyndham hotels. The fitness center machines were all out of order, and when I told the front desk, they didn’t seem to care. Back in my room, the Wi-Fi kept dropping every 5-10 minutes while I was trying to work. The room was worn and damaged, and staff acted like they didn’t care. I called Wyndham customer care and got the same response.

Worst experience ever. My husband and I went outside our room to test the key cards, and they wouldn’t open the door. Our one-year-old was alone inside, thank God asleep, and I kept riding the elevator from the fourth floor to reception, worried she might fall out of bed. The front desk employee went up a few times, but the manager on duty couldn’t come until I spoke to her. It took another 20 minutes for her to arrive, and she didn’t fix anything. I also spoke to the technician, who took a long time to come. I said I could call 911 because my baby was alone, and the manager got upset and said they wouldn’t do anything. It took an hour and a half in total to get back into our room, and Mrs. Nancy didn’t even apologize. I never leave good or bad reviews, but this could have turned into a worse situation and they couldn’t handle it.
