The Abbey Inn & Spa

The hotel itself is fantastic, in a historic location, and I’d highly recommend it. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. They don’t turn down reasonable requests. It’s a short walk into town, though the hill is steep. Amenities are limited in winter. The spa isn’t good, so don’t use it.

The meal was pricey, but worth it for a special occasion. I had the best Tuna Tartare I’ve ever tasted, and the crispy pork belly was incredible. The beef Wellington didn’t disappoint either. Cocktails and mocktails were spot on. Give it a try for a special occasion; you’ll cherish the memory.

The location is lovely, right beside a river and walking trails, and the area feels peaceful and scenic. The inn itself is stunning, and I really liked our modern, bright, very clean bathroom. Breakfast cost extra, but we paid since there’s nothing nearby. The food was good and reasonably priced. We were there for a wedding. Even with the group rate, it was very pricey. Our room had no view, and the window couldn’t be opened because it faced inside the hotel, straight onto people walking through the hallway. For us, this felt like a visit-once place rather than somewhere we’d return to often.

My husband and I chose the romantic proposal package at Abbey Inn And spa because we thought it would be a lovely chance for a mini honeymoon after our wedding. We were welcomed with a dozen roses, champagne, and beautiful scenery, and the staff and accommodations were incredible. On our first night, the executive chef and food and wine director Donnan and Ilani treated us to a seven-course tasting menu. They put it together beautifully and made us feel so welcome, turning it into a memorable experience. We also had dinner at Apropos Restaurant one night. The food and cocktails were wonderful: my husband had the catch of the day, salmon, and I ordered the sea dream from the menu. Dessert was delicious, and every meal, including breakfast room service, felt luxurious. The package included a couples massage. My husband and I had an incredible 50-minute aromatherapy massage. I’d highly recommend spending time at Abbey Inn, and we’re looking forward to going back.
