Getting checked out was simple, and we’d stay here again on another road trip. Our room was clean, had everything we needed, and the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was the usual continental spread, though I’m always happy to grab a quick coffee in the morning. We had no issues during the visit. The outside was cared for and lit well, and the lobby looked bright and clean. The receptionist was friendly and helped us when we stopped in to ask about checking in without a reservation.

The location is quiet, and UNCP, a Food Lion, Cook Out, a few gas stations, and other places to eat are about three miles away. I’d recommend it for a night or two. A couple of practical notes: the room key failed three times, so I had to make quick trips to the front desk. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. I preferred the walk-in shower because its floor felt safer underfoot than the tub and shower combo. The TV was set to another language. That’s not a big deal, just a bit of cultural variety. To change it, pick a channel, press “VD” on the remote, use the direction buttons to choose a language, then scroll to “X.” Captions help with the built-in speaker’s poor sound. The audio is hard to make out, but turning it up only makes it louder for nearby guests and doesn’t help much in the room. There was freeze-dried candy and fruit for sale at the counter, and it was nice to get a sweet treat without a 38% price increase. The decor prints might be available to buy through management, but nobody on site could confirm whether the original artist gets a share, so I passed on the one I hoped was by a local artist.

The breakfast buffet was amazing, and the staff were friendly. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the whole hotel felt bright and spotless. Couldn't have been happier.
