We were between homes and stayed for two weeks at a price that seemed good compared with other places. It’s a practical option for a longer stay, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, though nothing fancy. The room was as expected. Wi-Fi came and went, but it wasn’t a big problem. The fridge broke, and staff did all they could to sort it out; it still took three days to replace, through no fault of theirs. We also had a neighbor who screamed for much of most nights. I should’ve raised it sooner, but when I finally did, Kathy helped make things quieter on our last night. I understand he’d stayed there before and that finding him somewhere to stay is complicated. I won’t judge that here. The staff were great, especially Kathy.

I was nervous about finding somewhere to stay for a while, and in the end I didn’t have much choice. Walking into this hotel felt like hitting the jackpot. The front desk clerk showed me the kindness and respect I really needed, and the other clerks have been just as professional and welcoming on their shifts. The maids are polite and helpful, and they clean thoroughly and on time. Security makes it feel safe enough to walk outside at night without fear. It’s clean, friendly, safe, and there’s free food. I see lots of happy campers here, just like me.

The place was cheap and very close to the Peoria Sports Complex, so you get what you pay for. The rooms are dirty, with stained blankets and towels, bits of the bathroom counter coming loose, and water dripping from the fridge shelves. I could keep listing things, but you get the idea. Take it for what it is.

The policies made us feel like we were being treated as thieves. Staff even said the restrictions were because of fraud and theft, and the whole experience felt designed to make us leave early. They gave us a kitchen but no plates, silverware, or anything like that. We had to ask at the desk and got as little as possible. This wasn’t a cheap hotel, and I didn’t expect to be treated as though we’d paid nothing. I joked with my wife about the place trying to make us miserable, but after leaving I feel that way more seriously. I won’t come back, and anyone who mentions Extended Stay will hear me ramble about this for at least five minutes. It was abhorrent, and I hope I never have to set foot on Extended Stay Peoria property again. The problems started at check-in. I’d booked through Chase with points, but was told the third-party booking wouldn’t be accepted and that I had to pay by cash or card at the desk. I should’ve taken that as a sign to leave. The room was poorly maintained, with holes in the chair, bedding, wall, and shower. The curtain sagged into a U shape and kept falling while I showered, so I had to keep pushing it up to stop water getting everywhere. Breakfast was just coffee, oatmeal packets, and Nutria-Grain bars, the saddest hotel breakfast I’ve seen. We were told housekeeping only came every 14 days, though the corporate pamphlets said every 7. It seems this particular Extended Stay doesn’t follow that rule.

I’ve been here since November after moving to the valley at the end of September, when my living situation didn’t work out. Cathy, Nate, Gina, Jitzy, Joe, and all the housekeepers have been professional, helpful, and friendly. They’ve gone out of their way to make me feel at home.
