Four Points by Sheraton Peoria Downtown

I decided to keep driving to Bloomington and find another hotel because of the stairs at the front entrance and the street-only parking. I travel long distances with a lot of luggage. There was a ramp, but it was very long and fairly steep, which felt inconvenient, and I’ve never encountered a hotel with only street parking. Stephen T at the front desk was very nice, though. He tried to find reasonable solutions and understood when they didn’t work for me. He helped cancel my third-party reservation and made sure I’d get a refund. Thanks for the help, Stephen. The hotel looked like it could be nice.

I won’t be back, and neither will my family. This hotel needs better workers. The worst part came after I went out for New Year’s and got back around 2 AM: my key wouldn’t open the hotel doors. I knocked on the glass to get reception’s attention, and the woman just stared at me and ignored me until someone else came out and let me in. She then had an attitude while fixing the key, and I gave her a piece of my mind. There were housekeeping problems in the room too. One bed in our Queen double room had clearly been slept in and was just pulled smooth and tucked in. I found gummy worms under the bed, under the desk, and behind the pillows. The towels were dingy and had hair on them. I called the front desk, and the woman was polite, but the towels never arrived, so I had to go downstairs. She apologized and said she’d forgotten; it was New Year’s and I know they were busy, but housekeeping needs to be checked. When I first got to the room, I noticed there was no microwave. The wall mirror was missing too, but that wasn’t a problem. I called downstairs, and they put one up right away while I was in the bathroom freshening up.

I was there for an OSF stay while my stepmom had surgery, and they offered a special rate. Century greeted me when I arrived and was polite and helpful. He explained the area and parking, suggested places to eat at the restaurant, and offered to help with anything else. He was very professional.

Katie took a lot of stress off my shoulders when I had to extend my stay after hours of uncertainty. She was gracious and handled everything for me. Our car had broken down while we were traveling, so I’d picked this place because it was the closest Marriott to the repair shop and the only one within walking distance. I booked in the Marriott app and got a room with an AMAZING sunrise view over the river for much less than I expected, thank goodness. I’d never been to Peoria before, but I’ll stay here next time I pass through.
