Holiday Inn Express Peoria North Glendale

We were close to food and entertainment, and my son was thrilled with the pool. The room was clean and comfortable, and they gave us a larger one. Breakfast was great, too, and the staff were wonderful. It made an already relaxing trip feel even better. We loved our stay and will definitely come back.

Those cinnamon rolls at breakfast were so good, and there was plenty of food, though the choices were limited. They did need to empty the waste bins once. The location worked perfectly for visiting my parents' condo, the Peoria Sport Complex, and the trail system nearby. Staff were always smiling and splendid. The room was okay, with a very comfortable bed and lots of pillows in different types. The HVAC was noisy, like it was near the end of its life, but it did work. The shower had plenty of hot water, but neither setting on the head suited me: one felt like sandpaper, the other was feather-soft with only a two-inch spray. The TV picture was awful and often pixelated. Wi-Fi was 39 Mbps down and 14.8 Mbps up, fine for most things but questionable for Teams or Zoom calls. Even with those small reservations, I'd absolutely book here again.

The bed was comfortable, but the rest of the stay had a lot of problems. The place smelled strongly of perfume in the rooms and hallways, so don't book here if you have lung or breathing issues. The pool was cold, and the TV service was dish, which meant I couldn't watch my programs. There was no pen, paper, or coffee maker in the room. The sink's hot and cold were reversed, and its short faucet sent water across the counter instead of into the basin. Toilet paper and tissues were one-ply. Breakfast ran from 6:30 to 9:30, but the scrambled eggs were gone by 8 and weren't replaced. I saw the attendant push down garbage with bare hands, then refill buffet items without washing up. Yikes.

After our first choice of hotel turned out to be unacceptable, we scrambled to find somewhere else and booked two rooms at Holiday Inn Express at the last minute. They took us in gladly, and the rest of the stay was wonderful. The staff helped us beyond what we expected. There was a small water leak in my room, but someone came quickly to fix it. The areas were clean, breakfast was great, and we thought the hotel was better than advertised. We'd stay again.
