The staff at the front desk and breakfast area were friendly and welcoming, and gave us useful information and options for our interests. I appreciated being able to check out late so I could work in my comfortable room. Taylor deserves a special mention: she tried several ways to get my company laptop online and succeeded. Otherwise I would’ve had to work from my phone for a while or go to a coffee shop. Thanks again.
The hotel was generally clean, and the bartender was really nice and friendly. We were there for a softball tournament, and the stay was decent, though some things could be better. The fitness room was extremely small. Its water cooler was empty, and even after we told staff, nobody refilled it. There was also one employee who smelled strongly of marijuana, which was unpleasant and unprofessional.
Check-in was easy, the banquet staff were incredible, and the A/V system worked flawlessly and was top notch. Our business held its annual client gathering here, and everything went perfectly. The rooms were clean and very well kept, and our team found the whole experience seamless. Even our clients said it was one of the nicest meetings they’d attended. We’ll definitely come back next year. A big thanks to Cindy for helping with the event!
The mattresses were terrible, probably the worst hotel beds I’ve ever slept on. I travel a lot for work and have had better beds even in low-budget hotels. That’s the only reason I’m giving it 3 out of 5. Otherwise it’s a very nice place and seems fairly new. The restaurant was pretty good for a hotel restaurant, and breakfast was mediocre. They didn’t seem ready for a softball tournament even though almost the whole hotel was booked for it.
It was the worst hotel experience I’ve had in my 50 years. My husband and I flew in to spend Thanksgiving with his family. We’d booked our own hotel, but his brother-in-law, a frequent business traveler who travels around the world and is an IHG Diamond member, insisted we use his points at this Holiday Inn. We agreed. He came to check us in late on Monday night, after midnight, because our flight arrived late. We were booked through Saturday morning. We had our service dog with us, wearing his vest. Staff saw him at check-in and didn’t ask us for anything. Early Wednesday morning, the front desk called and demanded we contact my brother-in-law, the points holder. They said they’d left him a message, but wanted us to call him right away. Since he mostly travels in Asia, he keeps an Asian schedule when he’s home and sleeps in after staying up late. We said we wouldn’t wake him, and he’d call them when he woke up. We went downstairs to walk the dog, with me still in my pajamas. The women working at the desk were standing together with their arms folded, trying to look authoritative. One yelled loudly and embarrassingly that we had to call the points holder now. We repeated that we wouldn’t wake him, but said we’d call his wife so she could tell him to call when he was awake. Then they asked for the service dog paperwork. I answered sharply, admittedly, that it was in my laptop bag in my brother-in-law’s car, and we’d bring it in when he woke up. They’d have to wait. I went back upstairs, but my key had been turned off and I couldn’t get into our room. I sat by the door waiting for my husband. A few minutes after he came back up, the woman general manager told us we had to come downstairs and wait for the points holder to call. I said I wasn’t leaving until I could get my belongings and get dressed. She said she could call the police. I told her to go ahead, because we were leaving but weren’t leaving without our things. The police arrived about ten minutes later and helped us retrieve our belongings. They were very helpful. My brother-in-law came and let the staff have it for being rude. It was the most unprofessional, ridiculous experience ever. Situations like that make it harder for women to be respected in positions of power, because some seem to take things too far to prove their authority. If you want a pleasant stay, run far away from this place.
