Our room looked clean at first, but it was small, dated, and pretty average. We came to Peoria for our son's hockey game and arrived the night before so he'd be rested. Instead, the shower didn't work and the sink barely drained. We called the front desk, but those issues weren't fixed until 11:15 PM, so our son got to bed after midnight. That was unacceptable. I later felt that because I used Marriott Points, we were given an inferior room, which shouldn't have been assigned with a broken shower in the first place. The front desk should have caught it before we arrived. I used those points and came away feeling they'd been wasted. The dinner menu sounded appealing, but the meal was disappointing and subpar. The next morning the breakfast buffet area was dirty. At the omelet station, the man ignored us, then said he wasn't making any more. Less than ten minutes later, he was cooking omelets for other guests. We paid $45 for an unsatisfactory breakfast that included spoiled fruit, which felt unhealthy and unpleasant. The hotel failed basic cleanliness standards and the service and amenities fell well short of what a reputable high-class hotel should offer. We walked around and admired the paintings and architecture, and its grand entrance staircase and sparkling chandeliers were impressive. Still, the place presented itself as elegant, while our experience felt more like a rundown motel. The service was disappointing, and the stay was a waste of money and points. I'd tell potential guests to be cautious and think twice about spending their money here.

I haven't stayed overnight yet, though I've heard lovely things about the rooms and breakfast buffet and hope to try them sometime. I went to a Christmas party in the ballroom, which was grand, elegant, and beautiful, a memorable setting for an event. The Hotel Pere Marquette is a gorgeous historic landmark, with architectural details and well-preserved features that reflect its history going back to 1926. The classic charm makes it feel like stepping back in time. Its downtown location is handy for entertainment, events, and attractions, and the indoor walkway system lets you move between buildings and attend downtown events without going outside. A beautiful mix of history, charm, and luxury. I'd recommend it for events or anyone wanting to experience a special downtown landmark.

The whole wedding day at The Pere Marquette by Marriott was fantastic. We met William late in the planning, but he jumped in and made sure everything got handled. There were several complimentary upgrades, which helped make the whole weekend feel like a luxurious celebration. My family is very Type A, yet we could relax and trust William, Anne (Banquet Manager), and the rest of the team to make the event seamless and stress-free. They took care of every last-minute change, odd request, and tiny detail with professionalism, grace, and joy. I can't recommend this venue enough.

Brandon and Grace put me at ease with a smile after I accidentally booked the Marriott across town. They found me a room here and even called the other hotel to cancel the reservation for me. The room is beautiful and quiet. Thanks so much for the wonderful service!

The Pere has quiet, well-appointed rooms, attentive service, and friendly staff at the hotel lobby bar, where the vibe is always great. It seems like the only hotel in Peoria that cares about maintaining what was built. The other hotels are left to fall into disrepair over time, while Pere ownership clearly cares. The complimentary breakfast isn't worth your time, or your money if you're paying for it, but the restaurant has great options, even if they're pricey.
