Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Perry

The breakfast was a real standout. The pork sausage and scrambled eggs were hot, fresh, and juicy, and I saw the kitchen staff checking the buffet often to keep it in good shape. Maybe being near the fairground and agricultural farm helps. This new-build Marriott connects to the fairgrounds and was exceptionally clean. I've stayed at many Marriott properties, most were satisfactory, but this one was superb. A must-visit when you're in the area.

I've stayed at plenty of Marriott hotels, and this was the worst one by far. The room door was propped open when I arrived, so I worried about security and whether it had been prepared. There were two empty liquor bottles in the closet, which made it seem like nobody had properly cleaned or checked the room. The bedroom AC didn't work, and a sign acknowledged the problem, even though they'd assigned me the room anyway. The living room unit worked, but I spotted several cheese puffs inside it. The ice machine was another problem. I found mold inside the ice cubes after putting them in my drink, so I couldn't drink it. The Wi-Fi was also unusable for work, with failed connections and extremely poor speeds that made even basic online tasks impossible. Between the open door, broken AC, bad internet, mold in the ice, and signs of poor housekeeping, this stay fell far below the Marriott standard I've come to expect. Management needs to address these problems right away.

This Fairfield Inn is a treasure, especially for the rates and amenities. The room was clean, the pool was amazing, and the gym was top notch. We spent a night at the Ritz freaking Carlton in Atlanta recently, and I didn't like it at all. This is my new favorite hotel. Amazing!

We were pleasantly surprised by this new hotel on our drive from Chicago to Florida. The interior looks great and was clean, and the staff made a strong impression. Emily at the front desk was helpful, polite, and professional. At the bar, Shamieka was friendly and attentive, knew the food and drink menus well, and gave us suggestions we followed. The food was delicious. The lemon chicken with seasonal vegetables was perfectly seasoned and nicely presented, and the burgers were cooked just right. We also shared the sliders with blueberry chutney. Shamieka said chef Breeze makes the chutney from scratch, and that salty-sweet combination worked really well. Compliments to Breeze. We'll definitely come back. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
