Best Western Petaluma Inn

We clean restaurants after closing, so we often have to wait until 3 for a room. They let me check in early and check out late here, which was a huge help. The staff are polite and the place is clean, plus there’s a really good restaurant next door. I’d gladly drive 30 minutes out of my way to stay here again, and I’ll book when I’m in the area. Wish every location had a crew like this.

The front desk person the next day was great, but checking in the night before was cold and frustrating. There was no live person to greet us, just the kiosk and a guy who was rude and stuck to a script. He gave us a key for only one night even though we were staying longer. We also got no map, directions to the room, or instructions about the amenities. As a Best Western Rewards member, this was the least personable check-in I’ve had at a Best Western. Get rid of the kiosk and bring back real people.

I’m not especially into all this new technology, so a remote desk clerk was a first for me. Still, Elvis from india did a great job checking me in. The place itself was pretty okay, clean, safe, and comfortable.

ELVIS made virtual check-in really easy. He was patient, respectful, helpful, and down to earth, and I even got to take a selfie with him. It was a computer screen, but a real person was there saying hello and guiding us through the process, not AI. I chatted with him and learned he is OUT OF THE COUNTRY and was able to check us into our room. Pretty funny that someone working remotely can offer better service than an actual person there. Such a cool experience, technology has come a long way. Keep up the great work, ELVIS!
