Holiday Inn Express & Suites Petoskey by IHG

We came for a last-minute girls' trip. The building and location aren't perfect, but the staff more than made up for that. Everyone I dealt with seemed good at their job and did it with a smile. The whole place felt cheerful and accommodating. If anyone hated working there, they hid it brilliantly. Thanks, guys. I'll absolutely stay again.

I was in town for a wedding and stayed two nights. My group could get pretty loud, but the hotel's thick walls kept the sound from carrying. The room was clean and comfortable, I slept like a baby, and the shower was hot with a strong spray. Breakfast was good too. The receptionist was kind and thorough, and the man clearing the breakfast area was quick and efficient. A great experience.

After a day exploring downtown and the waterfront, the in-room hot tub was such a treat. The room was spotless and modern, the bed was really comfortable, and the linens and lighting felt top-notch. Staff were genuinely friendly and made sure we had what we needed. Breakfast was hot, fresh, and well stocked. The location is close to everything, yet quiet at night. Holiday Inn Express in Petoskey made for a relaxing, comfortable stay, with a romantic getaway feel. Five stars.

We visited on a fall weekday and got lucky with a quiet, relaxing pool area. I can't speak to how it feels in peak season with families around. The pool staying open until 11 was a nice surprise. We arrived after dark, so I hope to come back when I can see more of the view. The balconies and the ceiling and bathroom fans were unexpected and really useful for someone like me who needs fresh air and airflow. Everything exceeded what I expected from the brand and a tourist spot. My only suggestion is a few more fun waffle toppings, like caramel, white chocolate, or fruit, as I've seen at other HI Express hotels. That might be an unreasonable expense given how many kids they host each year, though.
