Super 8 by Wyndham Petoskey

The bed was great, but the bathroom needs some attention. It was way too small, missing flooring, and still had used soap in the shower. When I went to make coffee, the coffee maker didn't even have its filter holder. The “breezeway” was unbelievable, with large frozen rubber flaps hanging in the doorway. Walking through felt like entering a walk-in freezer. I won't stay here again.

The staff were very friendly, I will say that. The room itself was a different story: the remote had old dried food or spit on it, the bathroom floor wasn't clean, and mold was growing along the seams of the bathtub. Smoke from people smoking right outside the door came through the ventilation system and made the room smell terrible. We'd stayed at a very nice Super 8 two nights earlier and decided to chance this place. We'll never stay here again!

Customer service was good, and that's about the only positive. The room reeked of smoke, the bathroom was horrible, and the light barely worked. We only stayed because there was nowhere else available, yet they charge $300 a night on weekends.

For one night, it was okay as a cheap place to sleep, but I'd avoid coming back if I could. The room smelled like smoke, was run down, and hadn't been cleaned well. The front desk woman was super sweet and gave great service. But another staff member came banging on the door at 9 am to ask when I'd be leaving. If checkout is at 11, why startle guests first thing in the morning?
