We showed management our Expedia printout proving both nights were paid, but she didn’t care. She called the police on us, a 70-year-old couple who were asleep. After they arrived, she said she was refunding $150, which was $100 less than we’d paid. Then I saw the refund went to a different card, probably hers, so it seemed like a hotel scam. This started when management came to our room at 9:30 pm. The door didn’t have a lock. She banged on it, then said we owed around $10. There was no printout, just a post-it with a random amount. Since we’d booked two nights, I said we’d pay in the morning, but she insisted it had to be right then. Don’t stay at this dump. The management is beyond horrible, and it definitely seems like part of a bigger scam.

Expedia refunded the full amount to our credit card when we called them. The receipt the police gave us showed a refund of $151 and wasn’t for our card. We’re 70 and were in town for our great-granddaughter’s birthday party. Shreveport is a dump, and so is Comfort Inn. We’d paid Expedia $226.xx for two nights. At 9:15 the first night, a manager in plain clothes knocked on our door, which had no security lock. She pointed at a plain piece of paper with 9.54 written on it in pen and yelled that we owed it because Expedia hadn’t collected enough tax. She demanded payment right away, though my husband was asleep. Once he woke up, he told her to sort it out with Expedia. She’d checked us in and hadn’t mentioned this then. She called the police, and four officers came to kick us out. They didn’t care that we had a receipt; they said we had to leave if the owner said so. They gave us a refund receipt and escorted us out.

The manager was very rude when we raised our concerns. Rather than help or offer a solution, they acted as if asking for a clean room was an inconvenience. For what we paid, the cleanliness and service were unacceptable. I wouldn’t return or recommend this place. We’d just checked in with my family, and the room was nowhere near acceptable. There was hair throughout, dust on the lamps and headboard, spots on the ceiling, and stains on the curtains. The sheets weren’t clean either. The bathroom felt unsanitary, with gunk and buildup around the shower bar. I later learned that was old brown caulking, but it still looked terrible.

For a cheaper hotel, I’d stay again. The front office staff were pleasant enough, and breakfast was average to above average. The eggs were rubbery, the sausage patty was good, and it’s hard to mess up the waffle maker. I haven’t tried the biscuits and gravy yet. Other than the front office staff, the workers were foreigners with limited English skills. It’s what you’d expect from an older building. On the third floor the hot water takes a while, and the tub drains so slowly you stand in shower water. There are lots of construction workers who get up at 5 am and make a ton of noise as they leave.
