Village Suites Bay Harbor

The office and the team managing the place were quick to respond and helpful throughout our stay, and we’ve already booked another trip. Our family had 14 people in 4 groups at the Wanderlust house. The setup worked perfectly, with a third-floor bunk room and 3 of the 4 bedrooms having en suites. The main bedrooms also have walk-in closets big enough for cribs, which came in handy.

The only snag was figuring out the TV. It took a few minutes to work out which of the three controllers operated it, and some instructions would’ve helped. Otherwise, the room was beautiful, spacious, and well appointed, with room for 8 people. There’s a full kitchen with a coffee maker and coffee, plus a very nice balcony. The transom window above the door let in more light than I wanted.

After years of bringing several families here and spending a lot, we had a horrible last stay and won't return. The room, patio, and inside of the refrigerator were filthy, the tub was clogged, and there was a bunch of nasty hair they hadn't cleaned. There was just one staff member, who told us they were understaffed. Weeds surrounded the pool, which looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. They promised a 10% discount, which I was fighting to get through my credit card company, and were also supposed to comp our final night. Managers never called back despite our multiple calls. I'd love to post pictures if I can.

Right on Lake Michigan, this is an amazing wedding venue with welcoming, nice event spaces. The staff and locals all help make it a friendly place to enjoy.
