I've been coming here for the last 5 years, and some families have been returning for 4 decades. The resort is on the chain of lakes, with a pier for fishing or docking your boat and a sandy beach. There are paddle boards, kayaks, and row boats to use, plus a shared bonfire area for evenings. It's quiet enough to sit and read, and there's lots of good family summer fun to be had.

I've been coming to LFR since it opened in the 70's, and owned two weeks in the fall for the past 24 years. I drove up this week to see the resort after the change of ownership, and I'm really disappointed. There are lots of new docks, but the grounds were in poor shape, with leaves everywhere and grass that didn't look mowed in a month. It was a beautiful day and I saw only one occupied condo, with no resort manager on site. The website pictures don't match what I saw. We haven't missed a fall here in 24 years. The recreation building and golf course that used to be here are gone.

We all plan to come again next year. My daughter and granddaughters had a great time, as did I, and family flew in from Alaska and loved the stay. Sue and the staff were so helpful and friendly, and we loved being able to borrow things like tennis rackets, bikes, a minnow bucket, and beach toys instead of hauling them up. Even the weather was great for another excellent vacation at Lake Forest Resort. My daughter, Erin grill every night :)

I've been vacationing at Lake Forest Resort for more than 25 years, and it's still my favorite getaway in Eagle River. Family members come each year, so there's always a nice mix of company. The resort itself has plenty to do, from the golf course, clubhouse, pool, game room, canoes, tennis courts, and fishing to campfires and more. The staff are warm, welcoming, and ready to help, and the accommodations are always clean, updated, and comfortable. Nearby shops and adventures make the time fly. Love this place!
