Staybridge Suites Lexington by IHG

We stayed here twice within a few days. Katie was extremely nice and helped get us a new room when the A/C wasn't working. We were overcharged for one stay, and when we asked the front desk about it, confused, they said it wasn't the hotel's issue and told us to call IHG customer service. IHG said the hotel had charged us incorrectly and was responsible for the refund. When we called again to discuss it, an employee responded rudely and cursed under his breath. We were simply trying to get the mistake they made, and initially denied, fixed. It was completely unprofessional.

The suites had a great layout and everything was clean. Breakfast was good, and check-in was quick with a really friendly guy at the desk. The one serious issue was seeing two housekeepers smoking out front. A tall woman in a pink coat was swearing loudly on speakerphone as a family of five walked by, and the kids looked scared. I found that completely unacceptable. She was out there smoking every time we left, too, instead of working. I wouldn’t want her as my supervisor. Everything else was perfect.

The staff I interacted with were polite, despite other reviews calling them nasty. My main concern was cleanliness: there was dust built up on the bathroom vents, the pull-out bed hadn’t been vacuumed under its cushions, and several breakfast bagels had mold on them. The suite also felt dated. There were no USB charging ports, and the flat-screen TVs couldn’t stream or mirror a phone. The bedroom TV had screen burn and bright spots, while the living-room screen gradually dimmed until it was almost unwatchable. This place needs a thorough cleaning and updates to meet current standards.

Really good stay! The mini-suite was super clean and had all the in-room amenities I could want. Breakfast was great, with plenty of food right through 9:30. I’d definitely recommend it.
