We stayed in the king suite cottage with the Jacuzzi tub. It was pleasant but a little cramped, since two extra beds took up most of the living room, which shares its space with the bedroom. The small back deck was quaint, and we enjoyed sitting out there listening to crickets. Snow Trails is right nearby, so this seems like a handy spot for a ski weekend. I’d give it a 7 / 10 and would stay again. We didn’t get a chance to use the jacuzzi tub.

The Jacuzzi tub was just right after a long drive, and the cottage was clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully set up. As a former housekeeping supervisor, I appreciate the work that takes a guest room from adequate to outstanding, and the housekeeping staff here did a great job. These Cottages are unique and have lots of amenities. Everything worked as it should. We booked nearby at Spruce Hill Inn and Cottages for business travel to Snow Trails. They contacted us while we were still on the road to tell us which cottage was ours and that it was ready. We arrived late, and they met us outside to check that we had what we needed. We appreciate everyone there and will return when we can stay longer.

This place was an absolute dump. There were broken-down cars all over, and about half the cabins looked like they were being used as Mamet houses. A broken-down RV sat right outside our cabin, and it seemed someone lived in it because a dog was often visible in the windows. Bugs were all over inside the cabin. Motel 6 would’ve been a better choice at a quarter of the price.

We left the Victorian Manor and booked somewhere else because the stay was miserable. The exterior was poorly kept, with junk vehicles on the property, and some bedrooms and outdoor areas were being used for storage. Inside, torn and damaged wallpaper was everywhere, there was a gap beneath the front door, and there were cobwebs and dead bugs throughout. Flies were coming out of the disposer. Fixtures and bulbs were broken or missing, there were no closets for hanging clothes, and the master bedroom had no bedside tables while another bedroom had only one. The window AC units were poor quality, badly installed, and couldn’t keep the house cool. One shower didn’t work well enough to use, the master shower was dark with no light, and several sinks drained very slowly. Getting a response from staff was difficult, often taking more than 24 hours. The house’s condition and the lack of customer service made for a horrible experience. We’ll visit the area again, but we’ll NEVER stay at Spruce Hill. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Our wedding night at a Spruce Hill cottage was amazing. When the wedding was postponed by a week, they changed our reservation night easily and with no trouble. They sent check-in instructions, and when we called to say we were on the way, they told us the cottage was already open and waiting. It was adorable, cozy, and romantic, with a massage chair, jetted jacuzzi tub, comfy bed and couch, lovely decor, candles, and full-size shampoo and conditioner bottles. The woods and Snow Trails view was gorgeous. It felt like they’d thought of everything for a peaceful, relaxing retreat. I’d recommend it and look forward to going back.
