Hampton Inn I-75 Lexington/Hamburg Area

There are restaurants and shops nearby, including a Cracker Barrel just down the street. We had a clean, nicely decorated room with a comfortable bed, and the breakfast was good with plenty of options.

After driving 16 hours in a U-Haul, we checked in at 9:15 p.m. and were exhausted. Sasha at the front desk was friendly and helpful, but the rest of the stay was awful. Both queen beds in our first room squeaked so badly that we asked to move. The second room seemed okay at first, but both beds creaked whenever we rolled over. We were too tired to switch again, though we hardly slept. I've stayed at a lot of Hampton Inns, and this one was disgusting. The walls in both rooms and hallways badly need repainting and repair, some wallpaper is torn, there's a ceiling water leak and wallpaper coming away in the room, and there was some red stuff in the corner that didn't look like anything good. It's very convenient for getting on and off the interstate, but there's an adult establishment right across the street, so I wouldn't suggest bringing kids here. I mentioned the repairs at the desk and was told it was a very old building. Come on, Hilton, do better. The pool temperature felt hotter than a bathtub, though that was one positive. We'd stayed here twice a couple of years ago, but this was our last time.

Amanda at the front desk went out of her way to help us, trying to plunge our sink and moving us between two rooms. Without her, this would be a one star review. The first room hadn't been cleaned, with bedding left from the previous occupants. In the second, the sink was flooded and the toilet wouldn't flush. We were lucky to arrive before 6 p.m., since otherwise we might have been stuck in the original dirty room. The elevator passed inspection with violations, and the furniture is plastic. This was one random stay, but if 66% of the rooms are unusable, that's terrifying. There was only one employee working on the busiest night of the Thanksgiving travel weekend. The hotel should be condemned. We were traveling as a family, and nowhere did it say the hotel was across from the hustler Hollywood. We have no ill will toward people exploring sexually, but knowing it was there would have affected our choice, especially at $170 a night. If we wanted to stay across from hustler, there's a motel 6 in the same cul-de-sac. Promote Amanda, she's the only thing “Hilton” about this place. The rest of the staff should be fired and the hotel closed. If we wake up with bed bugs tomorrow, you'll hear from our lawyers.

The desk staff were very polite and helpful, and the hot breakfast was good. We stayed one night, and my kids had fun in the indoor pool. But there was green algae on the pool floor, and I think there was mold. The chlorine smell was so strong it burned my eyes just sitting in the pool area. There were mold spots in our bathroom too. The room floor felt sticky after I took my shoes off for a few minutes, and my kids' feet were gross after their shower last night, as the bathroom towel showed. It was an okay one-night stay, but the cleaning problems need fixing.
