The sheets had been washed, but a few small stains remained. There was mold at the base of the shower and a lot of scale on the showerhead, so it was hard to trust that the carpet had really been cleaned. The room had a smell, not necessarily a bad one, just a smell. I remember the breakfast being advertised as full, but it was only cereal and bagels. The lobby photos make it look more modern. I didn’t get pictures of the room because my cheap gas station charger couldn’t keep my phone charged. It wasn’t the most expensive hotel nearby, but it cost more than quite a few, and I expected better. The four-star review is misleading. Spend a few extra dollars and choose a different hotel.

The rooms were spacious and very clean. Both housekeepers were nice and attentive to what guests needed, and they worked hard. The daytime first-shift receptionist at the front desk has a great attitude and is very polite and friendly. I know I can count on her if I need anything. I had a great stay, and she’ll definitely get my business again. Thank you!

The location was good, close to lots of great restaurants. You’ve got to try Marie Mexican cuisine. The only location issue was homeless people at the stop light right in front of the hotel, though I know the hotel can’t do anything about that. Tony made check-in easy and even told us a story about a fake $20. Whenever we came in, he asked if we needed anything, and when we did ask, it was taken care of right then. The staff were amazing. The room was nice, though a little dated. The AC would freeze you out. The TV was a good size, but a few pixels didn’t work, and the towels were really thin, though they did the job. The room wasn’t well insulated, so we heard kids running around above us all night. A trash truck dumping a dumpster woke us up, too.

The last time we stayed here was this year, after coming through a couple of times most years on our way to South Carolina. We canceled our return booking after that visit. The place felt trashy and poorly kept, and at these prices we expected better. The halls were marked up, our room hadn't been cleaned well, and there was red mold on the shower head. There was only half a roll of toilet paper, and when I asked for two fresh rolls, I was told the policy was to provide just one, even though we should have had two full rolls to start. We also smelled a strong odor of pot at the main entrance several times over two days, going in and out. I don't know whether management or ownership has changed over the past couple of years, but we won't stay there again.
