Econo Lodge Lexington Downtown near I-81

Finding bedbugs at noon meant I’d missed the 11 a.m. checkout deadline, even though I’d stayed the first night. When I told the front desk and Expedia, they said they wouldn’t refund the other two nights. The bugs were in the bed, my luggage, and on my clothes. Now I have to miss a full day of work to go home and decontaminate everything. Never again.

The man checking me in was very rude. Whenever I said I had a reservation, he kept holding his hand up in my face and acted like he had to go get into his computer. Don’t stop here.

I showed up at midnight expecting to check in, but the clerk said I had to leave because my reservation card hadn’t gone through. It needed a passcode, and I offered that or other cards, but he wouldn’t let me try them. When I asked him to cancel the room, he told me to contact Choice hotels, even though Choice hotels was right there on his computer. He finally canceled after I started looking up their number. I asked three times for a receipt and was told it had been emailed. I was left with nowhere to go at midnight, having to find another room or sleep in my car. I shouldn’t have been treated that way.

We arrived on the evening of October 18th while driving through Virginia on vacation and asked for a non-smoking room for one night. There was a strange smell in the lobby, and the elderly man at the desk was extremely unfriendly. We decided to check out the hotel, and they said they were doing it. We’d been in the lobby less than five minutes and received no receipt. Later, I found two charges of $191.48 on my card. They’ve refunded one, but I still haven’t received the other. The service was extremely poor, and this behavior is abhorrent.
