I stayed here in Phenix City for a solo weekend in 2026 and found it comfortable and convenient. My deluxe king room was spacious and clean, with a plush bed, high-thread-count sheets, a rain shower, and toiletries. The fast Wi-Fi, smart TV, and stocked mini-fridge made it feel homey, and housekeeping kept everything spotless each day. Downtown and the markets were an easy short walk away. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient at check-in and offered helpful local tips. When I asked for extra pillows, they arrived within minutes. For the price, it was a great value compared with nearby options. I’d recommend This hotel to couples, families, or business travelers wanting an easy stay.
I’ve been here two days and haven’t been bothered, and I’ve met a few nice people. I slept great and dreamed all night. The towels are surprisingly soft, and the complimentary breakfast is there every morning. The staff were nice, and it’s a beautiful Indian family. There are lots of rooms, and plenty of fast food places and businesses within walking distance. I like how pet-friendly it is, just $10 a night. The pool looks nice, though I wish it were open for the season. Make sure you get a room that isn’t a long walk if that matters to you. I don’t mind being upstairs. So far, a great experience, except you can’t get ice when you want some.
We had to pay extra for a third adult, and graduation at Fort Benning meant there weren’t many other places to choose from. The online photos don’t show what you actually get. Our room needed repairs and updates, smelled strongly of cigarettes and marijuana, and the linens and towels didn’t look clean. Housekeeping barely seemed to clean. We were told we had to return our towels before getting more, and ice was only available in the lobby. People hung around the stairwell, and we could hear TVs and yelling from other rooms. Security was just a chain lock. The property had been empty for a while, and maybe it should have stayed that way. I’d ask for my money back, but there’s no point. And those “great” reviews? What a joke. An employee told me people are paid for them.
The location made getting around easy: Budgetel Inn in Phenix City is right off the 280 Bypass, near restaurants, gas stations, and stores, and only a few minutes from Columbus, Georgia. The area felt safe and peaceful in the evening. I’m staying for two days and just checked in today, but so far the atmosphere has been quiet and the staff kind. My room is cozy, clean, and comfortable, with fresh-smelling linens, a soft bed, microwave, mini-fridge, and good Wi-Fi for relaxing or getting some work done. It looked spotless when I arrived, and the housekeeping staff seem to take care of it. Check-in was quick after a warm welcome, and the front desk staff were friendly, professional, and helpful after my long travel day. For the price, it feels like good value, with comfort and genuine hospitality. I’m glad I chose Budgetel Inn – Phenix City and already feel at home. I’d recommend it if you want an affordable place in the area.
The front desk staff were especially welcoming, friendly, and professional. They helped with everything I needed, and I really appreciated their kindness and service. The room was comfortable and clean, everything worked, and the location was easy to find. I’d stay again and recommend this hotel.
