We never checked in or used any hotel services, but after our Jan 23-25, 2026 booking had to be canceled because a major snowstorm grounded our flight, the hotel wouldn’t refund us or give us credit. Priceline, where we booked, and our bank both reviewed the case and agreed a refund should be processed, but management wouldn’t cooperate. I also called the corporate hotline and spoke with three representatives. They first seemed ready to help, then said the hotel had the final say and would not reimburse us. We were only asking for a fair solution after severe weather and canceled flights, not special treatment. The refusal to offer any refund, credit, or other accommodation felt like a complete lack of care for guests. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. Even though it’s in Philadelphia, I’d strongly advise booking elsewhere. If something unexpected happens, don’t count on empathy or support from this management.
I only spent about five minutes in the room after checking in and dropping off my things, then went out to meet friends and slept at a friend’s place. When I returned in the morning, my door was open and money from my bag, along with other items, was missing. I should have used the safe, but management has been dishonest and unhelpful. They said their key use records showed I’d left the door open, but I was out of the hotel at that time and have Uber and restaurant receipts to show it. Their conclusion was that I left it open and no staff entered, only me. Someone else must have used a key to get into my room while I was gone. Some staff are very friendly, but after this I find it hard to trust anyone here, especially management.
We found the hotel handy for the convention center and lots of restaurants, and it gave us an inexpensive room that did what we needed. It is a bit dated, though. Check-in was fast and easy, and the agent was friendly and helpful. They brought a bag of water and snacks up for the night, and breakfast is included. A win!
A roach in the room turned the trip into the worst ever for me. I didn't want to write this, but customer support failed, and there’s been no follow-up. The service was nice and the price reasonable. My bed wasn’t made well, which was minor, but the room was supposed to be nonsmoking. Getting another room was easy, but before we could unpack, a roach was crawling on the desk. I can’t deal with critters. After a nine-hour drive, it took all I had not to have a panic attack. I was told no manager could be found to refund me. The owner came by and was very kind, and I was told I’d get my money back, but no one offered to help find a nearby place or give points. I had to spend $70 on parking for two days, then a couple hundred extra for a two-night stay elsewhere at the last minute. I paid double for a roach-free room there, then almost triple the next day. The refund didn’t cover parking, and I had to pay to park at the other hotel too. I went over my budget, and my flatirons, left in the lobby, weren’t returned. When I called to get the flatirons back, I was accused of claiming an employee had taken them, which I hadn’t said. The employee kept mumbling about being accused, and I couldn’t get a word in. There was no empathy. I’m a woman traveling with two young females, and not one person bothered to ask why I was staying or see if something could be worked out, such as calling other hotels. I had to wait until the next day to get my money back, which wasn’t helpful. As a rewards member, I wasn’t offered points or anything. I called again yesterday. The woman asked where my flat irons were, then barely spoke English. After I spelled “flat irons,” she asked me to call back in two hours. I waited at least three, but nobody would answer. Today they still won’t take my call about my hair curlers/flatirons, even if they haven’t found them. Nobody followed up about my stay or reimbursed the parking I wasted. Finding out what happened to my flatirons would at least have shown some respect. Instead I feel avoided. I’ll be contacting corporate and the president. I’ll never stay here again. I’m very disappointed.
The room was clean, but so dark it felt like a cave. I’ve stayed in plenty of rooms facing air shafts, but this was worse than any of them, with literally no daylight. A yellow light just outside my window stayed on all day and night. There was also a constant, irritating oscillating noise like someone down the hall using a drill or sander. I could never find where it came from. The TV had no Bluetooth, so I couldn’t cast Netflix or YouTube. The staff were fine, though nothing special. The hotel is away from the city center, with little nearby dining, although there is a very good coffee shop close by. It’s reasonably close to the convention center, but Rittenhouse square and other attractions are a bit of a walk. A few new apartment buildings are going up nearby, so the neighborhood may improve as more people move in. There are better choices closer to the main attractions.
