Motel 6 Philadelphia Northeast PA

I ended up here because of trouble with a rental car and flight, and the location was perfect for my broken-down rental. See my review on Sixt for THAT experience. This was the second of three Motel 6 stops during my East Coast trip, aka home, chosen for convenience. The third one was the worst. The room was clean and didn't smell weird. It was a little outdated, but in a charming way. The noise was a bit much, though it was Levittown, so I get it. My only issue was the lack of an elevator to the second floor. That was fine for me, but I work with disabled people, so that automatically costs a star. Sorry. I know it's an old, cute building, but install a lift!

The room was nasty, the shower was falling apart, and I was scared to sit on the toilet or that someone could walk right into the room. I put my own sheets on the bed and brought my own washcloths and towels. The furniture throughout the hotel is outdated, too. They're far too expensive for the service and quality. They let people hang around outside all night, with no kind of security. It's the only hotel in the area, so they get away with being completely nasty. It needs remodeling. If it were up to me, I'd burn it down and start over. That was the worst night of my life. I could go on and on, but you get the picture.

The manager first wanted $180 for this mess, then as we started leaving, said there was a room for $116. Seriously, aren't they ashamed to offer rooms like this? They should do at least minimal repairs. I'm very unhappy with my stay, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone wanting a good night's sleep. Not again, even for free. Terrible experience. Everything was dirty and stank, and I felt sick. All night, a mouse or rat in the upstairs neighbors' room kept us awake. The walls were so thin we could hear them talking, moving furniture back and forth, and dealing with the animal. The sheets were covered in cigarette burns, the walls were falling apart, the bathtub was disgusting, and I couldn't even shower because the curtain smelled so moldy.

I stayed for two nights and got wonderful service. The location is discreet. Unfortunately I didn't have time to take pictures, but next time I will. I highly recommend this hotel for a happy stay on a budget.
