We still haven't managed to speak with a manager after trying for about a week. Messages don't get returned, and staff keep giving us the runaround. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my worst enemy, and would rather make a six-hour round trip than stay here again. The problems started with valet, which cost $65 a night. Nobody helped with our bags, and it took more than 30 minutes to get our car each time we asked. The hotel next door treated its guests much better. Our room lock wasn't charged, so a technician had to let us in. The sink wouldn't drain, and the shower had no hot water. We moved to another room down the hall, but that one had its own problems: the door wouldn't shut all the way, the nightstand light flickered, and the toilet leaked. Then we found the fridge didn't work, so the food we planned to take home was wasted, worth hundreds of dollars. I'm sure nobody cares, since no one can even return a message.

The restaurant staff were very nice, and the location is excellent, but the rest left me extremely disappointed. After a five-day stay, I accidentally left two scarves and a purse in the closet while rushing to the airport. They weren't expensive, but they were gifts and meant a lot to me. I called the next day and had to try four times before reaching someone. They just sent me to a website that was a waste of time, and nothing was resolved. A local friend even suggested I might have better luck looking on Craigslist. I know leaving the items was my mistake, but the hotel made very little effort to help recover them. For its reputation and price, I expected a more responsible response. The lack of follow-through and honesty outweighed the good location and restaurant staff. I've stayed at much simpler places that showed more professionalism. Once I left my AirPods and a charger at a small hotel in Washington, and they mailed them back weeks later. There was also no hot water when I tried to shower at 11 PM on Wednesday. A notice had said repairs would interrupt hot water from 10 AM to 4 PM. I don't know why the repairs were needed, but it was February, freezing, with snow all over the streets, and the water still wasn't hot that night. Overall, a frustrating stay, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for wedding accommodations. I booked and paid for my wedding suite in April as part of my wedding room block, but since then the hotel has tried to charge me three more times for the same room. The wedding was over a month ago, and I've just received yet another charge. I've spoken with the hotel countless times, yet the charge somehow turns up again every few weeks.

We had a nice view of the city and waterfront, and the location is convenient for restaurants, trains, and buses. The rooms are really big, though they could use updating. The beds were tolerable but not especially comfortable. The elevators were out when we arrived, but the front desk agent took our luggage up in the service elevator. We found the bathroom sink wasn't working that evening, and someone fixed it first thing in the morning.

I feel very insulted, especially as “Bonvoy Platinum for life.” I've called the hotel's group reservations six times over two months about a rate for my daughter's wedding in the area, and Rebecca, who the operator said was their only group manager, never called back. The operator gave me her email, so I sent my details twice and got no response. If they didn't want my business, basic courtesy would be to say they're full. Hotel Monaco next door was very nice and responded immediately. I'm sure this hotel is nice, but its staff aren't good.
